  1. I wanted to follow up on your conversation about how to get soccer into the black community. I think it is simple marketing of the money to be made. Put soccer up against the ncaa and show how much money black kids are leaving on the table by wasting 1-4 years in the NCAA. Show them the money they could be making at 16-22 compared to American sports.

Then show them how many more chances of playing professionally they have compared to American sports. Literally thousands of teams around the world as opposed to 30 some NBA or NFL teams. That money talks loud! Yet I’m not hearing anybody waving that flag.

    1. So I have thought about this, and I think it comes to what is a visible proven path versus the invisible unproven path when it comes to Black families pushing their kids into soccer. When it comes to putting your kids in soccer in America, one has to have the financial means to support it if you want your child to compete at the top level. Unfortunately, most Black families can not do or are not familiar with doing that. When they come to America, most clubs around the world scout our usually only looking at kids at the top academies, which are very pricey. However, if we want to shift Black Families’ look to other chances outside basketball and football is very simple to make youth coaching and youth more accessible to the masses. (Yogi)
